Literair Café in Landhuis Bloemhof

Landhuis Bloemhof (museum, galerie) organiseert al geruime tijd onder de bezielende leiding van Elodie Heloise met regelmaat een literair café waarin o.a. met interviews door Bernadette Heiligers en Jeroen Heuvel auteurs van en buiten Curaçao gepresenteerd worden. Aflevering 7 met schrijvers Eric de Brabander, Diana Lebacs en Ronny Lobo werd als volgt aangekondigd: « Authors have created a lot of characters in their rich literary career. What are the pitfalls and joys of creating characters for stories? Who is the boss…? And is it possible to fall in love with them as their creator? Bloemhof’s seventh Literary Cafe will focus on this particular part of writing. These three authors will share their tricks, trials and triumphs on how they ‘build’ the people we read about in their books. A special section of this cafe will also be dedicated to dilemma’s concerning cultural appropriation. Can you write about women while being a man? Should you write about Africa without ever having set foot there? Are you allowed to write about countries, cultures or people that are alien to you? And of course the Three Wise (wo)Men (Philip A. Rademaker, Jeroen Heuvel and special quest) will wrap up this evening as usual. Join us for a very interesting evening.» Jeroen Heuvel laat een dag later op eigen wijze een poëtische reflectie volgen.
